Black

Racial Diversity has been very much discussed in the fashion industry in the last couple of years.

The "norm" was that maybe one in 60 girls per show was black or asian.
I think it´s not just me feeling the change the last couple of seasons.
Vogue Italia came out with the "all black" issue, Prada used a black (gasp!!!) girl in theyr show for the first time since Naomi Campbell in nineties and for this fall´s collection Calvin Klein got an exclusive on this gorgeous 17 year old black kid (for the first time in theyr history) , named Lindsay.
Sessilee Lopez has been opening shows this season, Arlenis Sosa ,a drop dead gorgeous new girl from Brazil got a Lancomé deal for trillions and Jourdan Dunn, the english cutie is getting so much publicity and is fast becoming one of the most famous english models around.
I´m not gonna get into what the deal is, I´m just going to let you all enjoy these incredible beauties. Iman, Waris Dirie, Ubbah Hassan, Yasmin Warsame( my favorite) Jourdan Dunn, Lyia Kebede, Arlenis Sosa -J´ adore.
It feels very strange that in the beauty industry, black women that buy the most make up (I read a study-a really cool piece in Vogue some years back) didn´t even have "theyr" models as the faces of the brand. There aren´t many years since black women had make up made for theyr skin tone.
When Esteé Lauder figured where the big bucks were they hired one of the most gorgeous Somalian models, Liya Kebede , but she is like a black Barbie. Baby steps , anyone?
A change is gonna Cooooome...
Enjoy the breathtaking view.

90´s Beauty is back...

I´m really loving the 90´s supermodel vibe of these shots from Vogue Italia beauty issue.
Big hair, beauty make-up and a face that reminds me of both Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista.

Fall Make-Up

Come fall , the mascara can take a little brake, if the top designer´s vision has anything to do with it.
I doubt any woman out there is ready for such a drastic step in the beauty department, but here are some pictures to prove it IS possible.
That is, if you are a supermodel.
The smokey eye never goes out of style, but the colors are very fall like. Orange-y and red-ish browns and golden colors are swept all around the eyes. The rest of the face is mostly kept neutral and pale.

Marc Jacobs fall 09

Marc Jacobs was colorful and eccentric per usual this time around. What stood out for me were the sunglasses and over the top make-up.

Some picky picks!

I really like these legging-boots from Rodarte, in black. Not so much into the grey latex feel. Those cardigans are gorgeous as well. The black shoes and these gorgeously decorated tights are from Doo.Ri.
I would also give a lot to try on that fur coat from Preen for one night.

Marchesa dresses

I think these from Marchesa are gorgeous.

Zara or Anna?

These Anna Sui allfits I can just imagine in the cheaper, teenage section in Zara come fall.

Oh-Bama!

Great to see Michelle Obama on the march issue of U.S Vogue.

Although I´m a huge fan of Michelle-and her husband...-this cover could have been SO much better. She looks totally awekward and I find that they chose a very unflattering shot of her.
Just my two cups of ranting.

Vic & Mads

My Vic Beckham obsession continues...
Here are some of her latest outfits, the girl is ferocious!
Also, some big news for the VB Collection-one of her dresses was debuted in W magazine and modeled by the Queen of pop herself-Madonna. She looks smoking hot in the spread-so Congrats to Vic! The photos seem to be shot by Steven Klein.
